last week, I wrote about the part YouTube can't teach you. the judgement behind the technique. the ability to recognise what a song actually needs, make a decision, and trust it. today, I can finally share what I've been building around that idea. the producer room. a live, collaborative two week intensive where we'll work directly on your music, together, in real time. inside the room: four live working sessions. two optional Q&As. a private WhatsApp group for questions, accountability, progress updates and quick feedback between sessions. every participant will receive dedicated live co-production time on one of their own tracks. you'll learn from the work we do on your music, but also from watching me solve real production problems across everyone else's records and explain the thinking behind each change. this isn't another online course or collection of prerecorded lessons. it's for producers, artists and songwriters who are beyond the basics and want stronger instincts, clearer direction and more confidence finishing records they're proud to release. the founding cohort will take place in September or October, depending on the availability of the group. only eight people will be accepted. the founding cohort investment is $895 USD, with flexible payment options available. if this sounds like something you've been looking for, applications are now open. I went to Beatport Connect in LA a couple of weeks ago. there were panels with artists, producers and people from different sides of the electronic music industry. and one thing kept coming up. stop chasing what everyone else is doing. funny enough, I regularly preach exactly this to a lot of the artists I work with. because it’s incredibly easy to do. you hear a record blowing up. a particular sound starts appearing everywhere. and naturally, you think: maybe I should be making more of that....
